Chelsea have reached an agreement on personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho has agreed a contract with Chelsea with the 21-year-old keen on the move to Stamford Bridge.
The Argentina international has been informed that he does not feature in Manchester United’s plans for the upcoming campaign.
It comes after Garnacho publicly criticised Ruben Amorim’s decision to start him from the bench in the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in May.
Despite interest from rival clubs in England and Europe, Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Garnacho ‘only wants Chelsea’ and has now agreed personal terms.
Chelsea first enquired about Garnacho’s availability in January, with Manchester United open to his sale to improve their PSR position.
Negotiations between the two clubs over a transfer fee are due to follow. It is understood that Manchester United want a figure in excess of £40m for Garnacho, but Chelsea are hopeful of negotiating a lower deal.
Garnacho could become Chelsea’s eighth signing of another active summer in the transfer market. The Blues are also continuing to work on a deal for RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons.
