Huddersfield Town boss Michael Duff thinks that Charlton Athletic are a good team but believes that the Terriers should have put the game against the Addicks to bed with the numerous chances they created.

Charlton failed to get back to winning ways in League One on Saturday when they took on Huddersfield away from home.

The Addicks conceded an early goal in the game before Matty Godden equalised for them in the 32nd minute, but a ten man Charlton side, after Greg Docherty’s sending off, failed to hold on to the 1-1 scoreline as David Kasumu’s goal sealed victory for the home side.

Duff admitted that Charlton are a good side with some good players and pointed out that they have a manager with Premier League experience in Nathan Jones.

He thinks that his side created numerous opportunities against Charlton and stressed that they should have put the game to bed long before the final whistle by scoring more goals.

“Charlton are a good team and they have got some good players, [with an] ex-Premier League manager so it was a nip and tuck game”, Duff told Huddersfield Town’s in-house media.

“I thought we did enough to be outside of one point and then you are holding on in the last five minutes and you are relying on a bounce of a ball or a ricochet that could go wrong, but we have had numerous chances to put the game to bed and we did not and that is what happens at the end there.”

Charlton are now winless in their last five league games and have won only one out of their last nine games.
