The recent game between FC Barcelona and Como was seen as a true test for both teams. However, by the end of the game, there could only be one winner. Ultimately, that was Hansi Flick’s side as they dismantled the Italian outfit.

Following the game, Como coach Cesc Fabregas was even asked to speak on various topics, including the possibility of coaching Barça in the future. However, he started things off by speaking about the recent game.

As quoted by Mundo Deportivo, Fabregas clearly described the game as the toughest challenge his team would face and has faced this season:

“This is the toughest test we’ll have this season.”

Afterwards, when asked if he could potentially end up coaching the Catalan club in the future beyond the tenure of Hansi Flick, Fabregas chose not to make any big promises:

“I’m just starting out. This is a long road — I’m 38 years old. Two years ago, I was still one of these guys (the players). Now I’m not; life changes and so do your perceptions and ideas. I’m very happy. I have lots of questions and I speak with all the coaches after every match, whether I’ve just lost 5–0 or won 3–0. For me, it’s about listening a lot, analysing a lot, and above all, implementing those lessons to help the young players grow.”

However, he was visibly fascinated by the team’s offside trap, something that ended up catching Como off guard on multiple occasions:

“We didn’t have 20 minutes, but maybe ten — enough. It’s true that the offside line is something that really intrigues me. I think we managed to beat it three or four times, but honestly, they caught us offside 12 times.”

As for Barcelona, the next step will be to prepare for the La Liga opener against RCD Mallorca. At the same time, however, there were reports of a potential negotiation with Como for the transfer of Inaki Pena, but that operation seems to have stalled.
