Celtic’s Champions League draw: KO time, where to watch, teams & key dates | OneFootball

Celtic will discover their UEFA Champions League opponents this evening as the draw for the revampled league phase takes place. The Scottish Champions were straight into the draw by virtue of winning the League last season and now, Brendan Rodgers will hope that his side can progress in Europe.

The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League features a new 36-team league, where every game is crucial. Eight different teams will come up against the Celts, with four at Paradise.

Unlike the previous format, Celtic will now have eight games – four home and four away. These fixtures will feature games against two teams from each pot, including Celtic’s Pot 3. A top eight finish will result in Celtic going into the Last 16 but 9-24 will result in a knockout round to take a place with the top 8. Unlike previous years, there is no fallback into the Europa League. It is all-or-nothing for Celtic in the UCL.

Kick Off Time

The draw will take place in Monaco later today, beginning at 5pm (Celtic Park Time).

TNT Sports will show the draw live on TV, as well Amazon Prime. However, fans can watch for free on UEFA.com.

Pot 1 – Real Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, PSG, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Barcelona.

Pot 2 – Bayer Leverkusen, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, Juventus, Benfica, Arsenal, Club Brugge, Shakhtar Donetsk, AC Milan.

Pot 3 – Celtic, Feyenoord, Sporting Lisbon, PSV Eindhoven, RB Salzburg, Young Boys, Dinamo Zagreb, Lille, Crvena Zvezda.

Pot 4 – Slovan Bratislava, AS Monaco, Sparta Prague, Aston Villa, Bologna, Girona, Stuttgart, Sturm Graz, Stade Brestois.

Clubs will be eager to get into the new format of the competition, which is certainly exciting. Celtic will want to do better than their four points last season and continue their progression under Rodgers. The Irishman has put European conquest at the top of his priority list and he will be eager for his team to showcase their talents on Europe’s biggest stage.
