In this week’s Full Match Flashback, we rewind to a night in the Granite City when Celtic turned in one of their most commanding performances of the first Brendan Rodgers era.

Coming into the game, it was a top-of-the-table clash, with Celtic and Aberdeen level on points and form. But what unfolded under the Pittodrie floodlights was anything but even.

Moussa Dembele was the headline act, scoring twice and setting up the other, as the holders stormed to a 3-0 victory, stretching their unbeaten domestic run to a staggering 61 games.

The hosts had arrived with confidence, Graeme Shinnie testing Craig Gordon early on, but the tone quickly shifted. Brendan Rodgers’ side flicked the switch into full control, and from that moment on, they were relentless.

The opener came after just 13 minutes. Dembele tormented Kari Arnason down the left before firing a low ball into the six-yard box. Kieran Tierney, bursting from deep, met it with a thunderous strike that cannoned in off the underside of the bar. It was a goal that matched the occasion – full of aggression, timing, and quality.

From that moment, Celtic were rampant.

The midfield quartet of McGregor, Rogic, Forrest and Armstrong took hold of the game with ease, dictating the tempo and dismantling the Dons with wave after wave of movement and invention.

Tierney turned provider shortly after, gliding past Shay Logan and delivering a sublime ball for Dembele to slot home Celtic’s second. It was ruthless. Aberdeen, shellshocked, simply couldn’t keep up.

There was no let-up in the second half. James Forrest clipped the side-netting, Armstrong went close, and McGregor and Rogic both saw efforts denied as the Celts pressed for more.

The third came from a set-piece, with Armstrong’s delivery falling to Dedryck Boyata, who headed back across goal for Dembele to tap in and seal a night of total dominance.

Aberdeen barely laid a glove in return. Their penalty appeals were waved away, and Celtic saw the game out with ease, moving three points clear at the top of the Premiership table in another title winning campaign for the Celts.
