Over the last few days, the Celtic headlines have been filled with the Glasgow Derby, the incidents that took place during the game and transfer rumours ahead of the summer window. But now, it looks like the opportunity has come up for a nice, and somewhat unexpected, change of pace. We finally have some news on the managerial front of things.
While his time at the club might not have ended on the right foot, there is no denying that Neil Lennon is an absolute Celtic legend. Both as a player and a manager.
Of course, questions have been raised about Lennon's managerial abilities over the years, even though he has won plenty of silverware including a treble. But his last few spells have not been the most promising.
It ended on a bitter note at Celtic as they made a mess of the 10IAR season. Then, he had a short spell at Omonia Nicosia, where he won silverware but was shown the exit door soon afterwards. And the stint at Rapid Bucharesti was nothing to write home about.
Now, it looks like he is on the verge of making his return to management. As reported by the Daily Mail, Lennon is on the brink of accepting a bumper offer from Dunfermline Athletic to become the manager of the Championship strugglers.
Dunfermline Athletic currently find themselves sitting at ninth in the Scottish Championship table. So, if Lennon does end up taking the job, it would not be a simple task to say the very least.
It remains to be seen if Lennon will indeed become the manager of the Championship side or not. But it looks like it is not far away if the speculation around the matter is anything to go by.
