Midfielder Davide Frattesi will definitely stay at Inter Milan in January despite persistent links to Roma throughout the transfer window.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They note that the words of the 25-year-old’s agent would seem to be the final nail in the coffin of the ongoing transfer rumours.

The January transfer window has seen Frattesi’s situation at Inter come under the spotlight.

Reports suggest that the Italian international has grown unhappy with his playing time at the Nerazzurri.

Therefore, there have been rumours that Davide Frattesi is pushing for an exit. And that he wants to leave this month rater than at the end of the season.

By far the club most strongly linked with a move for Frattesi have been Roma.

The Giallorossi are Frattesi’s boyhood club. And by all accounts they have indeed sounded out a move.

“Case Closed” – Roma Target Davide Frattesi To Stay At Inter

However, the Corriere note, the signs have all been pointing to Frattesi staying at Inter.

First and foremost, there is the fact that Inter do not want to sell the former Sassuolo midfielder.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri would demand a very high fee for Frattesi, possibly as much as €50 million. And they are not interested in player-plus-cash offers.

Then, from within Inter, there have always been strong denials.

The final nail in the coffin, though, has come from Frattesi’s agent.

Yesterday, the 25-year-old’s agent Beppe Riso openly admitted that it is more “his idea” than anything to try and engineer an exit for Frattesi.

The agent made clear that Inter have no intention of selling the Italian international.

It is very possible that the situation could change at the end of the season. But this month, Inter will not be selling Frattesi.
