Cape Town City FC officially signs Keagan Dolly

Veteran midfielder Keagan Dolly has embarked on a new chapter in his career, signing with Cape Town City FC as a free agent ahead of the new season. The 32-year-old playmaker, formerly of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, had been without a club since leaving TS Galaxy in July 2025.

During his time with the Rockets, Dolly made 20 competitive appearances and found the net three times since joining the club in November 2024. His most recent international involvement came at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), where he earned four caps for Bafana Bafana during their group stage exit under coach Molefi Ntseki.

Prior to joining Cape Town City, Dolly underwent an unsuccessful trial period with Siwelele FC—the restructured entity formerly known as SuperSport United—who ultimately decided against offering him a contract for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

The Citizens officially announced the acquisition this week, highlighting their belief that Dolly's top-flight experience and leadership qualities will be instrumental in their quest for promotion back to the Premiership following last season's relegation.

The club stated: "No need to guess anymore. We are pleased to confirm the signing of midfielder Keagan Dolly. Welcome to the City family, Keagan."

Dolly was already in attendance at Athlone Stadium last weekend, where he watched his new team begin their Motsepe Foundation Championship campaign with a goalless draw against Venda FC. He becomes part of an ambitious recruitment drive that has also brought in Sifiso Ngobeni, Njabulo Ngcobo, Mickey van der Hart, and Simon van Duivenbooden.
