Promotion-chasing Burnley have announced the signing of goalkeeper Václav Hladký on a free transfer.

The Czech stopper has spent most of his career in his home country, but first moved to Scotland in 2019 when he joined St. Mirren.

A move to Salford City followed in 2020 where he earned the Golden Glove award, and the following season was rewarded with a transfer to Ipswich Town, where he gained back-to-back promotions, first to the Championship and then to the Premier League in 2023/24.

"I’m absolutely delighted to be here and get all the paperwork done," the 33-year-old told the club's official website.

“I’ve heard a lot of things about Burnley and I’m well aware of this Club, it’s got great history, an unbelievable fanbase and I knew it was the place for me.

“I’m excited to get out and train today, I feel really well and I’m ready to get out there.”

Hladký made over 70 total appearances for the Tractor Boys.
