The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier this evening.
Farrugia joins Bristol City after leaving former club Sheffield United at the end of her contract earlier this summer. Farrugia spent one season with The Blades in which she was a standout performer for the South Yorkshire side. Unfortunately, her goals couldn’t help Sheffield United avoid the wooden spoon.
Farrugia has also turned out for Sunderland, Durham and Lewes in the English second tier to date.
On the international stage, Farrugia has been capped by the Maltese national team on more than 50 occasions at senior level.
After joining Bristol City, Farrugia said “It’s really exciting to be here and I can’t wait to meet everyone.
“When I had my first call with Bristol City, I knew it was the right move. When I heard about the aims and set up of the club, I knew it was the right step.
“I can’t wait to meet all of the players and staff and I’m excited to get going and start working towards our aims.”
Farrugia is Bristol City’s third summer transfer window signing.
