Bayer Leverkusen are set to complete the signing of Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken (31).
According to Florian Plettenberg, Flekken will undergo his medical with the former Bundesliga champions today (June 2) after a total agreement with all parties. The Dutchman will sign a three-year contract until 2028 after the club’s agreed of a fee of around €10m. This also comes after the Premier League side reached an agreement to sign Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher as a replacement.
Flekken is no stranger to the Bundesliga having played for Freiburg between 2018 and 2023, playing 80 top flight games in Germany for the Baden-Württemberg club, keeping 26 clean sheets. The 31-year-old will arrive at the BayArena as competition for Lukas Hradecky with Matej Kovar no longer having a future at the club. Niklas Lomb will remain the club’s third choice.
Flekken would become Leverkusen’s latest signing after Ibrahim Maza and Tim Oermann.
