Mikkel Damsgaard was named both the Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year at Brentford's 2024/25 end-of-season awards.

Bryan Mbeumo was the other big winner on the night as the Cameroon forward picked up the Goal of the Season gong for his superb volley against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bees currently sit ninth in the Premier League ahead of the final game of the season on Sunday, when Thomas Frank's side face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux Stadium.

Brentford Women head coach Karleigh Osborne and captain Mollie Holmes, who will both depart the club this summer, were given special recognition awards on Tuesday evening at Richmond Theatre.

While a number of players could have been recognised for their contributions during the season, the winners of the first team, B team and women's prizes have been revealed...

Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year

Mikkel Damsgaard

Mikkel Damsgaard picked up the Supporters' Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year awards.

The Danish midfielder has featured in every game across the Premier League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

He headed in his first goal for the club in a 3-1 victory over Leyton Orient in the latter competition in September.

In the league, Damsgaard has contributed two goals - a finish from a tight angle at home against Bournemouth and a close-range effort at Aston Villa - and provided a further 11 assists.

His terrific performances were rewarded with a new deal in January, which will keep the 24-year-old at Brentford until the summer of 2030, with the club having the option to extend his stay by a further year.

“He has been one of our best players this season; we are very dangerous when he is playing," said head coach Thomas Frank after the midfielder had committed his future to the Bees.

On receiving two awards, Damsgaard said: “I’ve had some rough years in the last two years where I didn’t play as much as I wanted, so sitting here with these awards after the third year means a lot.

“There are so many players in the team who have played amazingly so I’m very thankful that I can walk away with both, but I really think that some of the other guys deserve them as well!"

He continued: “To have played every single game this season is a big achievement given my history of injuries. Hopefully I can get more goals and more assists next year, too.

"I’m going to keep pushing for it and I want to continue improving myself and take the team to better places.”

Goal of the Season

Bryan Mbeumo

Bryan Mbeumo's impressive opener against Tottenham Hotspur in September was voted the Goal of the Season.

Mbeumo volleyed the Bees in front inside the first 30 seconds following a Keane Lewis-Potter cross from the left wing.

His fourth goal of the campaign at that stage, it also made it successive weeks where the west Londoners had scored inside a minute, with Yoane Wissa netting early against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium a week earlier.

Seven days after Mbeumo's goal at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - a game that ended in a 3-1 defeat - he volleyed in against West Ham United at Gtech Community Stadium, again inside a minute, a new Premier League record.

With one game to play, the Cameroon international has set a new club record for the most goal participations in a Premier League campaign (26 - 19 goals and seven assists), surpassing Ivan Toney’s 24 from the 2022/23 season.

"That was when we started to score really quickly in games so I told my friends to be ready quickly because we were going to score early, and I did," Mbeumo reflected on that strike at Spurs.

"It was a great cross from Keane and a great goal."

On his 2024/25 season so far, he added: "I'm always someone who says that they want to do better than they've done before, and that's what I've done, so I'm really happy with it."

Under-21s Player of the Year

Benjamin Arthur

Following a strong first season in west London, Benjamin Arthur took his game to another level in the 2024/25 campaign, picking up the Under-21s Player of the Year award.

Arthur featured in 31 games for the young Bees across Professional Development League and cup action, the centre-back scoring an equaliser in the Premier League Cup final against QPR, as well as picking up two assists.

He struck up a strong on-field partnership with fellow defenders Benjamin Fredrick and Josh Stephenson, helping lead Neil MacFarlane's side to the PL Cup final, London Senior Cup final and Wednesday night's PDL national final against Bournemouth Under-21s.

The 19-year-old also featured in Thomas Frank's matchday squad on five occasions throughout the Premier League season.

B team head coach Neil MacFarlane said: "A mainstay at the heart of our backline this year, Benjamin has had a terrific season. He deserves to win this award for the consistency in his performances, which has led to him and his team-mates having a brilliant season.

"He is a brilliant character and his composure on the ball is of a high level and his physical presence on the pitch is very good. Defensively, he continues to grow and has made some outstanding blocks and clearances this season."

After receiving his award, Arthur said: "It's an honour to receive this award and I'm even more pleased by the season that we've had as a team, being able to play in the latter stages of competitions is always the aim.

"I'm looking to take this momentum into next season as I hopefully get more opportunities to train with the first team."

Under-21s Players' Player of the Year

Benjamin Fredrick

Benjamin Fredrick's consistent 2024/25 season saw the defender named the Under-21s Players' Player of the Year.

Joining the club from Nigeria on the same day as Arthur in 2023, Fredrick quickly transitioned to a new style of play and became a regular starter in MacFarlane's starting line-up.

Fredrick featured 30 times across PDL and cup action this season, his goal against Sheffield United in the PDL play-off semi-final helping lead the young Bees to the national final against Bournemouth on Wednesday night.

Like Arthur, Fredrick also featured in Premier League squads (on four occasions) and previously earned valuable minutes across three first team pre-season friendlies.

MacFarlane said: "He has had an outstanding season with us and thoroughly deserves the recognition from his team-mates.

"His one-v-one defending is of a high level and he has a great desire to defend. His game has improved a lot since coming to us. He is also such a good character in the team and I’m happy for him to be recognised with this award."

Fredrick said: "I'm really pleased to be recognised by my team-mates. Obviously being a player that has come from Nigeria, I've had to adapt and I'm happy that the hard work that I have put in is paying off.

"Next season, the plan is to try and make my debut for the first team."

Under-18s Player of the Year

Otis Honor

Otis Honor has been named the Under-18s Player of the Year.

Honor captained the U18s for the 2024/2025 campaign and played over 50 games in an excellent individual season.

The central midfielder came through the ranks at Manchester United before joining the Bees in 2023.

A deep-lying playmaker, the 18-year-old registered four goals and five assists for the year and has been a leader on and off the pitch.

Honor has also contributed massively to Brentford B’s run in the London Senior Cup, playing the entirety of the 3-2 quarter-final win over Welling and 25 minutes in the semi-final victory against Barking.

After picking up the award, Honor said: "I'm delighted to win the award, it's a big honour for myself especially as I set myself this target at the beginning of the season.

"Jon-Paul Pittman has helped me massively and now as I head into the new season, I'm looking to be more involved with the B team and just continue improving as a player."

Brentford Women Player of the Year

Maddie Phillips

After joining Brentford Women midway through last season, Maddie Phillips went from strength to strength throughout 2024/25 to win the Player of the Year award.

A Bees fan for as long as she can remember, Phillips had always wanted to wear the Brentford shirt and did so with pride this season, helping lead Osborne's group to a league title and Capital Cup triumph.

An attack-minded defender down the right side, Phillips posed a threat in front of goal, scoring 13 times across all competitions.

Phillips also played her part in the Bees keeping 15 clean sheets across 35 games this campaign.

Speaking on Phillips' performances across the season, head coach Karleigh Osborne said: "Maddie's been magnificent.

"She's been a real pleasure to work with, she's been unbelievable in her performances. With her energy, her attitude and the example that she's been setting, I couldn't be prouder of her, she deserves it."

Phillips added: "I'm actually very surprised to receive this award so to be honoured with it is amazing, especially after the season that we've had.

"I want to thank all my team-mates for their support and I want to thank Karleigh for his faith in me this season. I'm very excited to challenge myself in a higher division next year."

Brentford Women B Player of the Year

Freya Walker

Freya Walker's impressive 2024/25 campaign saw her rewarded with the Brentford Women B Player of the Year award.

Walker made the goalkeeper position her own in Yannawit Khantharat's side, with a season highlight being her penalty save against Kenningwell United to extend the Bees' JGMT Cup run.

Walker also featured in the first team across the season, including in a 12-0 league win over Whyteleafe.

After receiving the award, Walker said: "Balancing my studies and football this season has been tough, as well as some injuries that I had at the beginning of the year, but to get to the end and be given this award is something that I am really proud of myself for.

"It was a difficult season for the team but I'm very sure that they will kick on next year and bounce back."

Brentford Women Supporters' Player of the Year

Chloe Logie

Brentford Women striker Chloe Logie has made it back-to-back Supporters' Player of the Year awards following another exceptional campaign.

Logie's form was superb from start to finish, scoring 58 goals across all competitions, making it consecutive 50-goal seasons for the number nine.

She scored six goals on two occasions and five goals twice, as well as scoring her first Gtech Community Stadium hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Bromley.

Logie struck up a strong partnership with fellow striker Ashley Cheatley, who added 46 goals of her own.

Osborne said: "She's been brilliant, she's developed year upon year and it's been a pleasure to work with her.

"A worthy winner, she deserves the credit that she gets and I look forward to seeing her journey continue as she grows and gets better as a player."

Reflecting on her season, Logie said: "The target for me is always to score goals and I want to thank the fans for awarding me with this trophy for a second year. It's a very special feeling to be recognised by the supporters and I want to take this form into next year as we will face tougher competition.

"It's been good to have Ashley Cheatley alongside me to score goals and learning from her has been invaluable to me as we've pushed on together to help get promotion."

Special recognition awards

Karleigh Osborne and Mollie Holmes

Karleigh Osborne's and Mollie Holmes' dedication to Brentford Women was acknowledged with special recognition awards.

Following a long playing career, including 175 games for Brentford, Osborne was head coach since 2018, leading the group to back-to-back Capital Cup triumphs, a Trophy Cup and a league title and subsequent promotion this season before announcing his departure from the role.

Holmes spent a decade as a Bee and was captain of the side through Osborne's entire tenure, before confirming her retirement at the end of the season.

The duo leave the side in a great position to go on to further success.

Osborne said: "It's been an honour to be recognised by the club in this way. I think that as I've been a player and a coach here, I have a full appreciation and acknowledgement for the supporters and the players that I've played with and coached.

"It's not a complete goodbye as I will still be working at the club in some capacity but once again, I do truly want to thank the players for their amazing achievement of promotion and I wish them the very best of luck for the new season in a new tier."

Holmes added: "It's been special for me to have played for Brentford for my whole career and now I think is the right time for me to focus on other things but I want to say a massive thank you, firstly to the girls. Promotion was always the target and to have done it with a near-perfect record is unbelievable.

"I also want to say a very special thank you to Karleigh for the time and patience he's showed to help us develop and grow as players and people."
