An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid could be primed for an altogether prominent role in the club’s first-team setup this season.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Thiago Pitarch as the player in question.

The name of youngster Pitarch, for those not aware, has emerged as an altogether prominent one behind the scenes in Spain’s capital over recent days.

This comes after the 18-year-old was afforded a chance to impress in senior training, an opportunity which he has since taken full advantage of.

Xabi Alonso and his staff are understood to have been left taken aback by Pitarch’s abilities, despite his tender years.

So much so that, as alluded to above, an altogether important role could await the Spaniard at the Santiago Bernabéu in 2025/26.

As per a report from AS:

‘The 18-year-old midfielder has been the sensation of the pre-season. Xabi is relying on him, and he could be a key player this season given the lack of playmakers in midfield.’
