Borussia Dortmund have announced a new two-year deal for goalkeeper Alex Meyer.

The 33-year-old is the backup to Gregor Kobel in the side, and has made 15 appearances for the club since joining in 2022.

"I feel very comfortable in Dortmund, I feel a great deal of appreciation from those in charge, the coaching staff, my teammates, the staff and our fans," the stopper told the club's official website.

"I still don't take it for granted that I can wear the BVB jersey. That's why I'm happy every day to be a part of this club.

"We've been pretty successful in the past two years, but my big goal remains to be able to celebrate a title with the BVB family at Borsigplatz at the end of the season.

"That's what I'm working towards with my teammates."

Meyer is a product of the Hamburger youth system, and will remain at Dortmund until 2026.
