Kai Havertz appeared to overcome his weekend injury scare to rejoin training with Arsenal on Tuesday, with Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard also involved in the session.

Arsenal striker Kai Havertz received treatment on the pitch in the aftermath of the Gunners’ win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, sparking fears of an injury setback.

With Gabriel Jesus out for the season, Mikel Arteta’s centre-forward options are already very limited, hence the club’s pursuit of a signing this month. But losing Havertz as well would be disastrous.

Fortunately, Charles Watts reports that Havertz was involved in training with Arsenal on Tuesday. It doesn’t currently seem he’s set for a spell out of action.

On top of Havertz’s inclusion, both Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino were back involved in training. The midfield pair missed out on Saturday’s game, with Odegaard absent due to illness and Merino picking up a knock. But they’re seemingly available again now.

The good news ends there, with Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu still out of action. Any hopes that one of them (most likely White) will be back in time for this weekend’s game against Manchester City are likely to be dashed.

The only other absentee is Bukayo Saka, who won’t be back until March at the earliest.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is currently suspended for Premier League matches, pending the outcome of Arsenal’s appeal, but he’s available for Wednesday’s Champions League game.
