Bologna are lining up a move to sign teenage Inter Milan striker Francesco Pio Esposito on loan this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Teenage striker Francesco Pio Esposito finds himself at something of a crossroads this season.

The 19-year-old enjoyed an absolutely outstanding season on loan with Spezia. He scored eighteen goals for the Ligurian club.

Pio Esposito’s goals are a big part of the reason why Spezia are in the final of the Serie B promotion playoff against Cremonese.

Should Spezia triumph and return to the top flight, there is a sense Pio Esposito will stay there on loan.

Having successfully grown and developed over the last two seasons, there’s no reason why a third with Spezia wouldn’t benefit Pio Esposito.

However, should Spezia not come up, then the 19-year-old will likely go to a different club. There is a strong sense that it’s time for him to step up to the top flight.

There are a few clubs with an interested in Pio Esposito. Reportedly Parma have asked about the 19-year-old’s signature. Torino also want to sign him on loan.

Napoli have also made no secret of their interest in signing Pio Esposito. Meanwhile, the likes of Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Pio Esposito’s signature in recent months.

However, according to the Gazzetta, there is also interest from Bologna.

The newspaper report that Rossoblu technical director Giovanni Sartori was in the stands for the first leg of the promotion playoff between Spezia and Cremonese.

At the top of the executive’s agenda was scouting Pio Esposito.

The Gazzetta report that the teenage striker is a major target for Bologna this summer.

Therefore, the Emilian club will look to sign Pio Esposito on loan from Inter.
