Former Juventus CEO and ex-PSG executive Jean-Claude Blanc has been appointed as the interim CEO of Premier League side Manchester United, in a post that will last until July.

Blanc is currently the CEO of the sporting division of INEOS, who recently purchased a minority stake in Manchester United, led by the wider company’s CEO and founder, Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Blanc has also sat on the United board since INEOS’s involvement at Old Trafford.

Manchester United confirmed that their previous interim CEO, Patrick Stewart, will be leaving the club alongside CFO Cliff Baty.

Blanc, along with new interim CFO Roger Bell, will serve until July, when Manchester City’s former chief footballing operations operator Omar Berrada will assume his position.

Blanc first became involved with Juventus in the aftermath of the Calciopoli scandal, and was appointed chair of the board of directors in 2009.

He later stepped back from his position as chair to make way for Andrea Agnelli, but stayed on as General Manager and chief executive.

Among his most memorable feats with Juventus was the construction of the Allianz Stadium, which became the only ground to be entirely owned by an Italian football club.
