Leeds United academy graduate Bailey Peacock-Farrell is set to seek a move away from Birmingham City this summer to restart his career after falling down the pecking order at St Andrew’s.
The 28-year-old started the season as Chris Davies’ first-choice goalkeeper but then lost his place to the veteran Ryan Allsop as Blues won the League One title.
He eventually finished the season with 16 appearances overall, just nine of which came in the league.
Birmingham are all set to complete the loan signing of England’s Under-21 goalkeeper James Beadle from Premier League club Brighton.
The signing will mean a shuffle in the goalkeeping department and one of the current three, including Bradley Mayo, could leave.
The Leeds United academy graduate looks the most likely candidate to leave through the St Andrew’s door at this point in time, according to Birmingham Live.
While the final decision will definitely rest on the manager, Peacock-Farrell is likely to ask for permission to try his luck elsewhere.
The 28-year-old has his international career with Northern Ireland at stake and needs to be playing regular games.
He, though, has a contract with Birmingham City running until the summer of 2028 and, therefore, the club will not be eager to lose him on the cheap.
He has extensive experience between the sticks and is sure to have no shortage of suitors this summer.
Peacock-Farrell was considered to be a promising talent when he came through the youth set-up at Leeds United.
He headed to Burnley before then having loan stints at Sheffield Wednesday and AGF in Denmark.
Birmingham captured the shot-stopper last summer as part of their big spend to get out of League One.
