Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski is at risk of a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Midfielder Piotr Zielinski came off the bench in yesterday’s Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Monza. He replaced Henrikh Mkhitaryan as a substitute in the second half.
However, the Polish international was only able to see out a couple of minutes.
Zielinski went down holding his calf, in evident discomfort. Joaquin Correa replaced him as Inter pushed for a winning goal.
Now, the question is how long Zielinski will be out for.
Clearly, with an apparent muscle problem it will not be a brief spell on the sidelines for the 30-year-old.

Inter play two more matches before the international break. They face Feyenoord in a Champions League round of sixteen second leg, and then Atalanta in the league next summer.
Clearly, Zielinski will not be available for either of those two matches.
Then, there is the good fortune of the international break. That will give Zielinski a bit of extra time to recover.
However, according to the Gazzetta, there would certainly be no guarantee of seeing Zielinski back on the pitch right after the break.
The former Napoli midfielder has suffered a calf injury. Navigating the recovery from injuries of that nature can always be tricky.
Therefore, the Gazzetta report, Zielinski could still be out for some time after the break.
The timing of that injury is therefore quite unwelcome for Inter.
The Nerazzurri are really getting to the business end of their season. They will be active in Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
