Manchester United could reportedly make a move for long-term striker target Benjamin Sesko this summer.
The Red Devils are in desperate need for a number nine as both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have rarely impressed this season.
The club is one of the lowest scoring teams in the division and would benefit immensely from having a top-notch goalscoring option to rely on.
For that reason, they have been linked to numerous attacking targets this summer such as Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap.
Another attacking option that is reportedly on the menu this summer is Red Bull Leipzig forward Sesko.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Andy Mitten has claimed that it is a possibility that United will revisit their interest in Sesko this summer.
“He has been Manchester United’s top target in the past, the number one. So I mentioned a shortlist – this is someone who is seen as a high quality, long-term option for Manchester United.
“United have looked at what his probable fee would be. Is the player attainable? I don’t have any current information, because that’s the stuff which is most closely guarded as to whether Manchester United want Benjamin Sesko.”
The Red Devils were first linked to the player back in 2022 when the then teenager was at Red Bull Salzburg.
Mitten double-downed on United’s past interest in the player by describing the lethal forward as being “right at the very top of the tree” when it comes to strikers that they have admired.
United would not be the only club looking to sign the Slovenian however, as Arsenal are also said to be keen to do a deal to sign him.
The young forward has continued to build his reputation as a feared goalscorer across Europe as he has found the net 16 times in 32 matches this season in all competitions for the Bundesliga side.
