Bayern Munich still consider Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to be a target, whilst Man City are also following his situation.
This according to UK outlet CaughtOffside, via FCInter1908. They report that a fee of €45 million could be enough to convince Inter to sell the Turkish international next summer.
Over the summer transfer window, there were links between Bayern and Calhanoglu.
Reportedly, the German giants sounded out a move with the 30-year-old’s agent.
Bayern saw Calhanoglu as an ideal solution to their midfield.
The Bavarians were prepared to make a massive contract offer, of a four-year deal.
And moreover, reports suggested that Bayern were also weighing up a big cash offer that could tempt Inter, even to sell a player as vital as Calhanoglu.
However, these links only lasted for a few days.
It was in fact Calhanoglu himself who nipped them in the bud. The former Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan midfielder publicly addressed the speculation and made clear that he had no intention of going anywhere.
In the end, Bayern made Joao Palhinha from Fulham their big midfield signing for the summer.
However, the Portuguese international has yet to find his best form at the Allianz Arena.
Therefore, the feeling is that there’s a good chance that Bayern will move for a midfielder next summer. The profile that they would be after would be a more creative player for the position.
And Calhanoglu would certainly meet those requirements.
Therefore, CaughtOffside report, Bayern retain their interest and could reignite their pursuit in 2025.
As far as a fee, the outlet claim, Inter would want no less than €45 million to sell Calhanoglu.
And at that fee, Bayern wouldn’t necessarily be the only big club with an interest in signing Calhanoglu.
Premier League giants Manchester City would also consider moving for the Turkish international.
