Bayer Leverkusen near agreement to sign Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir | OneFootball

With the end of the transfer window nearing, Eliesse Ben Seghir (20) may yet leave AS Monaco. Bayer Leverkusen are nearing an agreement with the Morocco international on personal terms, according to a report from L’Équipe.

It was Ben Seghir’s Monaco teammate, Maghnes Akliouche, who had been heavily touted for a departure. However, it is ultimately the former who is nearing an exit from his formative club. The Moroccan has attracted significant interest from Germany. Borussia Dortmund are in the race, whilst Bayern Munich have also made an enquiry.

Ben Seghir is open to a move away from the Principality club and is nearing an agreement on personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen. The Bundesliga side are also closing in on a deal with Monaco for the forward. Les Monégasques rejected Bayer Leverkusen’s €25m bid last week and are holding out for a fee of around €35m, according to L’Équipe’s report.
