According to a report from SPORT, Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen appears to be making excellent progress in his recovery and could return to group training after the match against Borussia Dortmund.
The German shot-stopper, who has been sidelined for six months due to a serious knee injury, was recently seen celebrating Barcelona’s impressive 4-1 victory over Girona alongside his teammates.
It is to be noted that the club has been sharing images of him engaging in goalkeeping drills, including making saves and diving for shots, indicating that he is gradually regaining his sharpness and confidence.
It is said that an injury of Ter Stegen’s magnitude typically requires a recovery period ranging from six to eight months, and while his return was never set to a strict timeline, his steady progress suggests he is on track to make a full comeback.
Barcelona’s medical team has been closely monitoring his rehabilitation, and so far, all signs point towards a successful recovery.
The most encouraging news for both Ter Stegen and Barcelona is that he is reportedly feeling very good, with no discomfort in his operated knee.

The plan is for him to rejoin group training sessions once the Champions League quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund concludes.
For the German goalkeeper, taking part in full training with his teammates will mark a significant milestone in his journey back to full fitness.
As reported before, his ambition remains to play again before the season concludes, although that will depend on how Barcelona’s campaign unfolds across all competitions.
Currently, Wojciech Szczesny has been performing admirably. The Polish goalkeeper’s impressive form has provided Barcelona with stability at the back, which has undoubtedly eased some of the pressure.
However, if Ter Stegen’s recovery continues at this promising rate, he could be available for selection in La Liga before the final matchday, especially if Barcelona secures the league title early.
His return would be a massive boost for Hansi Flick’s side as they aim to finish the season on a high.
