Barcelona youngster Marc Bernal reveals when he expects to be back on the pitch | OneFootball

Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal has provided an update on his ongoing efforts to recover from injury.

Bernal, for his part, was of course dealt a hammer blow all the way back in August of last year.

After establishing himself as a key figure in the engine room setup of new boss Hansi Flick at just 17 years of age, Bernal picked up a knee problem late in a 2-1 victory over Rayo Vallecano.

As much was subsequently confirmed to be an ACL tear, ruling the starlet out for the long-term.

Updates on his recovery have since been few and far between, amid hopes of Bernal being back fully fit and firing for the beginning of next season.

Speaking to the media during Barcelona’s La Liga title celebrations at Montjuïc this evening, the subject of his fitness was, in turn, put to the Spaniard himself.

And Bernal’s response proved an encouraging one, the midfielder having explained:

“I think I’ll be ready to play by August.”
