Barcelona youngster makes major call on his future | OneFootball

An up-and-coming member of the midfield ranks at La Liga champions Barcelona has this week made a call on his immediate future.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Guille Fernández as the player in question.

Guille’s name will likely be a familiar one to close followers of Spanish champions Barcelona.

This comes with the 17-year-old having long been making a name for himself as a potential star in the making in Catalunya’s capital.

Guille was called up for pre-season training by Hansi Flick upon his arrival at Barca last summer, with the same privilege having been afforded to the starlet this time round, too.

And yet, with so many high-profile stars blocking the path to first-team minutes in the Blaugrana’s midfield at present, murmurs have long been in circulation that Guille could be tempted by an offer of immediate senior football elsewhere.

With as much in mind, the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Porto have been credited with a serious interest in the starlet this summer.

If the latest word stemming from the Spanish media this weekend is anything to go by, however, then those of a Barca persuasion need not fret.

As per a report from Mundo Deportivo:

‘According to sources close to the player, MD has learned that Guille is committed to staying with the reserve team for another season and trying to take advantage of the opportunities that arise with the first team throughout the season.’
