Inter Milan right-back Denzel Dumfries recently emerged as a player of interest for FC Barcelona this summer.
The Blaugrana have been monitoring the Dutch international, following a standout performance in the Champions League semi-finals against them, where he was widely regarded as the MVP.
Hansi Flick’s coaching staff have identified him as a viable target, while the sporting management have taken note of Dumfries due to a €25 million release clause in his contract, which is valid for a limited period.
Speaking on the matter, Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio confirmed the existence of the clause but made it clear that Barcelona have not made any move.

“We have not received any formal approach from Barça for Denzel Dumfries. There is a release clause, that is true… but it will expire soon, and we will move on,” said Ausilio, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo.
Dumfries is a profile appreciated by Barcelona, who have Jules Kounde as their primary choice at right-back.
The 29-year-old international is represented by superagent Jorge Mendes, who recently brought up his name during a meeting with Joan Laporta and Deco, asking the club to make a decision before his €25 million release clause expires on July 31.
However, at the moment, the La Liga champions have other priorities, such as the signing of a new left-winger.
The sporting department would only pursue a top-level right-back like Dumfries, only if the conditions in the transfer market changed significantly.
