According to a recent report from SPORT, it has come to light that Barcelona are expected to cash in on defender Alex Valle this summer, with Como showing strong interest in securing his permanent signing.

The young left-back, who is currently on loan at the Italian club, has made a solid impression since his arrival, making him a key target for a potential transfer.

Valle’s move to Como happened at the very last minute during the January transfer window after he cut short his loan spell at Celtic.

Due to the rush in finalising the deal, no purchase option was included in the agreement. However, it must be noted that he does have a €6 million exit clause in his Barcelona contract.

Barcelona were well aware that Como have significant financial backing and that a strong performance from the defender could pave the way for a lucrative sale in the summer.

So far, everything suggests that this scenario is likely to unfold.

Since joining Como, Valle has wasted no time in making an impact. He has been a regular starter, with manager Cesc Fabregas placing full trust in him.

His consistent performances in Serie A have only increased the likelihood of a permanent move, and while there have been no formal discussions regarding transfer fees, Barcelona expect to negotiate a sale.

The Catalan club is open to selling Valle, provided that an offer of around €8 million is presented.

This is because Barcelona’s long-term plans for the left-back position are clear, with Alejandro Balde being the undisputed first choice.

Additionally, the club recently renewed Gerard Martin’s contract, further solidifying their plans for defensive depth on the left flank.

With Como keen to retain Valle’s services and Barcelona willing to negotiate, all signs point towards a deal being struck in the coming months.
