Barcelona are out to reclaim top spot in La Liga when Real Sociedad visit the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys today.
Hansi Flick’s team are targeting a sixth straight league win having rediscovered their early-season form in recent weeks. It’s a tense title race in La Liga, with just a point separating the top three heading into the weekend. Atletico Madrid moved top of the table with a narrow 1-0 win over Athletic Bilbao, while Real Madrid were beaten at Real Betis.
A win for Barcelona today will see them move a point ahead of Atletico and open up a three-point gap from Real Madrid.
Real Sociedad head into the game amid a dip in form. The Basque outfit have lost four of their last six in La Liga to drop to ninth.
Hansi Flick has an almost full-strength squad to choose from for today’s clash. Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Marc Bernal are likely to be out for the remainder of the campaign, while Andreas Christensen has suffered a slight setback in his recovery from injury. It’s otherwise a clean bill of health for Barcelona.
Barcelona predicted XI: Szczesny; Kounde, Cubarsi, Araujo, Balde; De Jong, Pedri, Olmo; Yamal, Raphinha, Lewandowski.
Barcelona host Real Sociedad in La Liga on Sunday 2nd March 2025. Kick-off in Catalonia is 15:15 GMT.
For viewers in the United Kingdom (UK), Barcelona vs Real Sociedad will be available to watch live on La Liga TV and Premier Sports.
