A member of the transfer shortlist at La Liga giants Barcelona is ready to take a salary cut, to seal a move to the club this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Ivan Perišić as the player in question.

The name of wide-man Perišić has of course emerged as a prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent days.

This comes after surprise reports linking Barcelona with a move for the Croatian international were forthcoming in the media.

Perišić is fresh off an impressive campaign on the books of PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands, which saw the 36-year-old rack up 16 goals and 11 assists.

Familiar with the experienced attacker’s abilities owing to their time spent together at Bayern Munich, Hansi Flick, in turn, is said to have directly requested Perišić’s free agent signing.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media this weekend is anything to go by, the Croatian appears to be equally keen on reuniting with his former headmaster.

As per a report from MD:

‘Perišić wants to reach the World Cup at 100% and knows that competing for Barça gives him a better chance. Hence, he is willing to take a low salary.’
