Barcelona tipped to launch surprise swoop for Arsenal star | OneFootball

La Liga giants Barcelona have this week been credited with an interest in a headline member of the midfield ranks at Arsenal.

The player in question? Thomas Partey.

It is of course common knowledge that the Barcelona brass are currently on the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

A whole host of names from across the continent, in turn, have been tipped to fill the hole at the base of Xavi’s engine room over the course of recent weeks.

And, today, a new profile has been added to the list.

As per a report from Spanish transfer journalist Adrián Sánchez:

“One of the names that [the Barcelona] sports management likes MOST is THOMAS PARTEY.”

Ghanaian international Partey’s current Arsenal terms are due to expire in the summer of 2025, with the lack of progress made towards a renewal meaning that he could be available this summer for a cut-price fee.

Alternatively, the early groundwork could even be laid for a free transfer in 12 months’ time.
