After being out of action for over a month, Barcelona summer signing Dani Olmo made his comeback from injury last night in the 4-1 win over Bayern Munich.

The 26-year-old is now fully fit and raring to go as he prepares for his first-ever El Clasico this weekend.

Indeed, Barcelona face off against bitter rivals Real Madrid on Saturday night at the Santiago Bernabeu in a game that will have major repercussions on the La Liga standings.

And, in an interview with ESport3, Olmo insisted that he is looking forward to playing in the ‘best match in La Liga’, while insisting that he believes Barça can beat Los Blancos with their ideas.

“In a match like this, there’s no favourite. It’s the best match you can play in La Liga and in Europe. We can beat them with our ideas, and that’s what we want to prove,” said Olmo.

The 26-year-old Spanish international returned to Barça this past summer, exactly a decade after he had left La Masia.

Prior to his injury, Olmo was in red-hot form scoring three goals in three appearances. Upon his return against Bayern Munich last night, the versatile attacking midfielder showed glimpses of his quality.

Having gotten around 15 minutes of action against the Bavarian giants last night, Olmo will be hoping that he can start against Real Madrid come this weekend.

However, he will face stiff competition from Fermin Lopez, who excelled after starting on Wednesday night, while the likes of Frenkie de Jong and Gavi are also waiting in the wings for their opportunities.

Overall, it is a good problem to have for Barcelona manager Hansi Flick as he looks to beat the current La Liga champions and consolidate the Catalans’ position at the top of the table.
