The registration saga involving FC Barcelona stars Dani Olmo and Pau Victor continues to drag on even though the club expected to resolve the matter today.
Having failed to re-register the pair before the December 31 deadline, the Blaugrana have been busy over the past couple of days to find a way to secure new licenses for the duo, allowing them to play in the second half of the season.
There has been total confidence within the club as they believe that they had sent all the necessary documentation to La Liga concerning the €100 million sale of the Camp Nou VIP seats which would allow them to register the two stars and return to the 1:1 ruling.
However, now RAC1’s Marta Ramon reports that Barcelona are yet to receive the full payment for the VIP seats sale and that is why they still do not have the approval from La Liga.
As per the update, the Catalans are awaiting to receive a total of €28 million from the investors, which once transferred, will allow the operation to move forward.
The entire situation has been handled in a bizarre manner by the club administration and as such questions are being asked of Joan Laporta and his board.
Olmo and Victor, for their part, continue to remain calm and are training under the orders of Hansi Flick, even though the situation has become extremely frustrating.
With the Barcelona manager set to speak to the press in a little while in the build-up to tomorrow’s game against UD Barbastro, more clarity on the current situation could arrive then.
