Beyond just the first-team signings for FC Barcelona, there will also be other movements. Unlike most other clubs, the Catalan giants always give chances to almost all of the sporting departments under their flag. That is why Barcelona remains what it claims to be, and it will always be Més Que Un Club.

One of the priorities that Barcelona has set itself for this summer is to not leave the subsidiary team high and dry. They want to help out the secondary team as well by helping them recruit the players that are going to let them stay competitive. Among such players is Pau Victor, who did more than enough last season to justify such interest.

The 22-year-old Spanish forward was the elite goalscorer that Barcelona Atletic needed last season. Despite only being on loan from Girona, he excelled and exceeded expectations without a doubt. Unfortunately, Barcelona managed to miss the deadline to sign him for a low fee, but they remain on his tale even now.

Unfortunately, they are no longer the only hunter behind Victor’s signing. According to SPORT, Segunda Division side Real Zaragoza are now gunning to sign the player for themselves. In fact, they have reportedly already contacted the player’s entourage as well hoping to get his attention.

While Barcelona are more or less blocked due to their ongoing complications with their 1:1 rule, they are not giving up entirely on bringing back Pau Victor. Zaragoza, on the other hand, want to take away the player who recently impressed with Barcelona Atletic on loan for a season themselves.

That is where things may get a little optimistic for Barcelona. The club is aware that Pau Victor is a Blaugrana fan through and through, and they are betting on his desire to play for Barcelona to pull through in the end. Moreover, it may not even need to come in the form of a signing since Girona are open to loaning him again.

That is because the player has a contract with his parent Catalan club until 2025, and there are only three real options on the table. Either the player renews with the club, goes out on loan, or is permanently transferred. At the moment, Barcelona would be rubbing their hands at the chance presented in the second option.

While Zaragoza aim for promotion and believe that Victor’s addition would be a great step in achieving that goal, the player’s personal desire remains to play in Barcelona. However, only time will tell how things develop and if the player eventually ends up returning to Barça or not.
