Barcelona star’s agent reveals interest from ‘the best clubs in Europe’ | OneFootball

The agent of Barcelona star Alejandro Balde has revealed that his client was at one point the subject of intense interest on the part of some of Europe’s leading clubs.

Defender Balde has for his part of course enjoyed a fine campaign to date.

Looking back to his best following a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, the 21-year-old has established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet of new boss Hansi Flick.

Balde, in turn, is widely considered to be the left-back of present and future in Catalunya’s capital.

All of a Barcelona persuasion will therefore no doubt be interested to hear that, in the recent past, their side’s defensive standout came in for widespread interest on the part of rival clubs.

Speaking during an interview with Mundo Deportivo on Tuesday, super agent Jorge Mendes, Balde’s representative, explained:

”What I can say is that before renewing with Barça, the best clubs in Europe wanted him and Barça knows that, so there is no doubt for any of them. They knew the difficult situation that Barça was in and that they could take advantage of that situation, but Barça made the right decision not to sell him despite having important offers.”
