Barcelona youngster Pau Cubarsí has been named as part of the official UEFA Champions League Team of the Week.
Stopper Cubarsí was for his part in from the off on Tuesday, as Barcelona kicked the club’s continental campaign back into gear in a meeting with Stade Brestois.
Hansi Flick’s troops ultimately marched to a 3-0 triumph, with Robert Lewandowski having stolen the headlines courtesy of a brace.
It was the aforementioned Cubarsí, though, who was named as the Man of the Match.
The 17-year-old shone bright from his berth at the heart of Barca’s backline, equally superb on both sides of the ball. Cubarsí, remarkably, managed to rack up 110 completed passes over the course of the 90 minutes.
And, as alluded to above, on Thursday, such efforts on the part of the Spanish international have been further recognised by UEFA.
This comes with Cubarsí having been included in the competition’s latest Team of the Week.
Elsewhere on the La Liga front, Julián Alvarez is rewarded for a brace against Sparta Praha with a place in the XI, too:
