Barcelona star Robert Lewandowski has this week been tipped to extend his playing days for some time yet…

Frontman Lewandowski is for his part of course in the midst of what has been an explosive start to the new campaign.

Looking a player reborn under the watch of Hansi Flick at Barcelona, the Pole has racked up a hefty 15 goals across his first 13 appearances of the term.

Considerable credit for as much must be attributed to boss Flick, with the German’s direct, attack-minded style of play having afforded Lewandowski a major upturn in goalscoring opportunities.

So too, though, must credit go to the striker himself.

Despite being 36 years of age, Lewandowski remains in nothing short of remarkable physical shape, considered to be one of the fittest players in Barcelona’s ranks.

And it is such commitment which another former Blaugrana goalscorer feels will allow the Polish international to prolong his career for many years to come.

Speaking during an interview with Mundo Deportivo this week, Sergio Agüero was asked:

As a goal-scoring man, how long do you see Lewandowski continuing to score goals?

And, in his response, ex-Argentine international Agüero assured:

”He could play until he is 42 or 43. He won’t have the agility he used to have, but he is lively enough to score so many goals. He looks good. He will continue to score, especially at Barça, where there are always chances.”
