Barcelona star tipped for ‘a summer full of drama’ | OneFootball

A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is expected to endure a drama-filled summer over the weeks and months ahead.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Gerard Romero, who points towards Marc-André ter Stegen as the player in question.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s future has of course taken its place centre stage in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last week.

This comes amid the understanding that Espanyol standout Joan García’s arrival at Barcelona could push the club’s long-time no.1 out the exit door.

Groups of Blaugrana supporters have even gone as far as to kickstart an online campaign, to convince the Camp Nou brass to sanction Ter Stegen’s sale.

With the German himself having made clear over the weekend that he has no intention of going anywhere this summer, trouble could therefore be brewing behind the scenes in Barcelona.

And one individual increasingly fearful of a ‘dramatic’ few months ahead for Ter Stegen comes in the form of the aforementioned Gerard Romero.

Speaking on his official Twitch channel late on Sunday evening, Romero, considered something of an inside source at Barca, explained:

“I keep thinking we’re headed for a summer full of drama with Ter Stegen. It would hurt, because he’s been a leader for years… but maybe it’s time to realise that, in the end, some things just have to happen.”
