Barcelona star rejects transfer offer to join teammate at new club

Barcelona star Marc-André ter Stegen has rejected the opportunity to make the move to France, with AS Monaco.
That’s according to Marca, who have late this week provided an insight into the latest developments surrounding the German’s future.
Goalkeeper Ter Stegen’s name has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over recent weeks.
This comes amid the widespread understanding that those behind the scenes at Barcelona have made the call to sanction his sale.
With Joan García’s arrival now confirmed, Ter Stegen’s considerable wages make him something of a burden to the Camp Nou brass.
As alluded to above, though, this week, the 33-year-old has nevertheless knocked back a transfer offer on the part of a high-profile European club.
As per a report from Marca:
‘Monaco have approached Ter Stegen in recent hours, and the response has been that he does not want to leave Barcelona.’
In the case of agreeing to a move to the Stade Louis II, Ter Stegen would have been primed to reunite with Blaugrana teammate Ansu Fati, on the verge of a year-long loan switch to Monaco.
