Barcelona star names club’s next breakthrough academy star | OneFootball

Barcelona star Pau Cubarsí on Saturday revealed his take on the next member of the club’s youth setup primed to explode onto the first-team stage.

The player in question? Quim Junyent.

Cubarsí, of course, is currently away on international duty with the Spanish senior squad.

Still just 17, the starlet is widely considered to be La Roja’s next great defensive talent, already an undisputed starter with Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

Safe to say, then, that Cubarsí is in a good position to speak on those in the academy setup in Catalunya’s capital boasting the required qualities to emerge onto the senior stage.

Speaking in an interview with Onda Cero this weekend, the subject of precisely as much – the next ‘star’ of La Masia – was in turn put to the stopper.

And, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, Cubarsí showed little hesitation in pointing towards the aforementioned Quim Junyent.

For those not familiar with his name, Junyent is a 17-year-old midfielder, who is currently plying his trade for Barcelona’s U19s.
