Barcelona star Iñigo Martínez has been pencilled in for a medical with Saudi outfit Al-Nassr late this week.

That’s according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, who has on Friday provided an insight into the situation.

The name of defender Iñigo of course suddenly emerged as an altogether prominent one in the media headlines across Spain on Thursday.

This came after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the 34-year-old, out of the blue, was inching towards a Barcelona exit.

Despite having played a starring role for Hansi Flick’s side this past season, Iñigo has set his sights on one final pay day ahead of the close of his career.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from the media on Friday is anything to go by, the experienced stopper’s Saudi switch can now be considered as good as done.

As per a report from journalist Fabrizio Romano:

‘Al Nassr have booked medical tests for Inigo Martinez set to take place already this week. His one year deal with option until June 2027, ready to be signed.’
