As Barcelona prepare for the summer transfer window, they are keeping a close eye on some of their former players who could help the club benefit financially due to future sell-on clauses inserted in agreements while parting ways with them.
One such player happens to be Jean-Clair Todibo, who is set to secure a permanent transfer to the Premier League this summer.
As reported by Mundo Deportivo, Todibo is set to bring Barcelona a significant financial boost this summer. The French central defender, who spent the past season on loan at West Ham from OGC Nice, will soon sign permanently with the English club.
West Ham will pay the €40 million buy option that was agreed upon in the loan deal. When Barça sold Todibo to Nice in 2021, they retained 20 percent of any future transfer fee.

Todibo originally joined Barcelona from Toulouse during the final days of the 2019 winter transfer window for just €1 million. However, he failed to establish himself in the squad and went on a series of loans to Schalke 04, Benfica, and finally Nice.
The French club eventually activated an €8.5 million purchase clause to acquire him permanently.
The loans in Germany and Portugal had already brought in a combined €3.5 million. Altogether, Barcelona had generated €12 million from the player before this latest sale, which brings the total to €20 million.
It is also worth noting that Barcelona have already confirmed the sale of Alex Valle to Italian side Como, who paid the €6 million release clause for the left-back.
Meanwhile, the club is monitoring potential additional income from the possible transfers of Estanis Pedrola, currently negotiating a move to Bologna.
