The upcoming days are expected to be quite busy at FC Barcelona as they look to complete some player sales in order to free up salary space for incoming signings like Joan Garcia and Nico Williams.

Fringe first-team players like Ansu Fati and Pablo Torre are expected to leave Barça in the coming days while there will be some departures from the youth and reserve ranks as well.

Sergi Dominguez is one such player from the Barcelona reserve team who is on the verge of leaving the club for Dinamo Zagreb.

€1.2 million transfer fees for Dominguez

Now, according to Carlos Monfort of SPORT, Barcelona will earn a transfer fee of around €1.2 million from the sale of Sergi Dominguez to Dinamo.

The defensive talent will sign a four-year contract with the Croatian giants until 2029, with the Blaugrana retaining a 20% future sell-on clause for the youngster.

Dominguez, 20, has been with the Barcelona academy since 2020. The young defender was part of the first-team pre-season under Hansi Flick last summer following which he went on to make six senior appearances in the 2024/25 season.

However, given the overbooking in the centre-back department in the first team, a breakthrough was unlikely for the youngster. And following Barça Atletic’s relegation, he has opted to move to a new adventure with Dinamo Zagreb.

While €1.2 million may not seem significant, every bit counts for Barcelona in their bid to boost up their Financial Fair Play situation.

The La Liga champions are also beginning to see returns from previous deals where future sell-on clauses were included – such as those involving Jean-Clair Todibo, Ferran Jutgla and Alex Collado.
