FC Barcelona have faced a significant setback in their summer transfer market plans recently as their preferred candidate for strengthening the attack, Nico Williams, renewed his contract with Athletic Club.

For now, the Blaugranes are still looking to reinforce the left wing, and for this purpose, they are now being linked with two other big names, i.e., Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford.

However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Catalans will face significant competition for the signing of these players as well, as there are some other teams also pushing to sign both of these players.

Bayern Munich preparing an offer for Luis Diaz

For the Liverpool star, Bayern Munich have reportedly already prepared an offer of €60 million fixed and some very generous bonuses. The Bavarian team’s coach, Vincent Kompany, himself has requested the Colombian’s signing, and the Bundesliga side is willing to make an effort. However, these terms are the maximum that they will offer for the winger.

In this operation, the Bavarians have been respectful of the tragedy that the Merseyside club has faced, i.e., the death of their player Diogo Jota in a traffic accident. Thus, they have delayed their offer, but the player’s agent is already aware of the German club’s plans.

Jose Mourinho wants the other Barcelona target

For now, Diaz himself has not given the green light to this move, as he is still waiting for Barcelona, which is his dream move. Some reports also suggest that he has asked Liverpool to improve his terms as he wants to stay, but not at any cost.

On the other hand, Marcus Rashford is their Plan B for now. However, it they delay making a move for him too much, they might also lose out on him, as Jose Mourinho, with whom the Englishman has already played during their time at Manchester United, wants him in his Fenerbahce team. The Turkish side’s Sporting director is expected to meet Manchester United officials this week for this purpose.

Thus, Barcelona will have to fast-track these operations to ensure they get at least one of these forwards for the next season.
