With FC Barcelona’s season now concluded, the La Liga champions have begun planning for their pre-season tour of Asia this summer.
So far, only one friendly has been confirmed – against Vissel Kobe in Japan on 27 June. Following that, the team will head to South Korea, where they will play two more matches, opponents for which are yet to be announced.
Once the pre-season tour is done, the Catalans will play the Joan Gamper Trophy match – the traditional curtain-raiser for the team before the new campaign begins.
And it appears that the Blaugrana have decided on their opponents for the said match.
Indeed, according to SPORT, it appears that Serie A side Como 1907, coached by Cesc Fabregas, is the chosen team to face Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy match.
The match serves as a presentation of the squad and new signings to the home crowd and Barça fans will get to greet a familiar face in former midfielder Fabregas as well.

Despite his limited managerial experience, Fabregas has achieved an impressive 10th-place finish in Serie A with Como this season, only a year after the club’s promotion to the Italian top flight.
His performance in the dugout has attracted interest from several clubs, but the former Barcelona midfielder is planning to remain at Como for at least one more year, despite having a contract through to 2028.
While an official date for the fixture has yet to be confirmed, all signs point to 10 August.
Barça are aiming to host the match at the Spotify Camp Nou, provided that renovation works stay on schedule. If not, the club may hold the match at the Estadi Johan Cruyff as a last resort.
One venue that has been ruled out is the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, due to a Blackpink concert scheduled for the night before.
