Rúben Amorim’s decision to leave Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of Manchester United’s squad for last Sunday’s derby against Manchester City has sparked speculation about Rashford’s future at the club.
Ben Jacobs from GIVE ME SPORT reported that Paris Saint-Germain have not made any new moves for Rashford, although their sports advisor, Luis Campos, is well aware of the player’s situation.
Although PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has had discussions with Rashford’s camp in the past, he is unlikely to push for further talks without clear interest from the player. This caution follows the events leading up to Rashford’s five-year contract extension with United in July 2023.
Jacobs also notes that Rashford is open to a move to LaLiga, with Barcelona viewing him as a good fit. However, the financial challenges of such a deal make it nearly impossible unless Manchester United agrees to a loan and covers a significant portion of his wages.

FootballTransfers reported on Saturday that Barcelona have reached out to Manchester United about a potential January loan move for Rashford. The outlet also reveals that Rashford’s desire to leave has caught the attention of Barcelona, who have long admired him.
As a result, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is eager to take advantage of any available market opportunity. The report goes on to state that Barcelona have made contact with United about a possible half-season loan with an option to buy in the summer.
The Spanish giants offered a fee of £35 million (€42 million), but Manchester United has yet to respond. However, Rashford is aware of the interest and eager to make the switch, per FootballTransfers.
Rashford recently spoke to journalist Henry Winter and hinted that a potential departure could be in his future.
“For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford told Winter. “When I leave it’s going to be ‘No hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.”
