Barcelona are not ready to give up on Ansu Fati just yet, as Hansi Flick has noticed a positive change in the young forward’s attitude and work ethic in recent weeks.
According to a report from Ferran Correas in SPORT, the manager has observed that Ansu is now putting in greater effort to match the intensity of his teammates, which could soon translate into more playing time.
The young forward’s situation at the club has been uncertain, especially after he chose not to entertain offers during the winter transfer window. However, despite his struggles, Barcelona’s management still believes there is a path for him to succeed at the club.
Flick had initially been open to the idea of a loan move, but Ansu opted to stay and fight for his place, hoping to prove he can still live up to the expectations that came with inheriting the No. 10 shirt.

The key reason for this renewed hope is Ansu’s improved attitude in training. Flick and the coaching staff have seen him working harder in recent weeks, which could help him regain the rhythm needed to compete for minutes in the squad.
His decline in form over the past year was largely influenced by physical setbacks, particularly the plantar fasciitis injury that disrupted his pre-season. He had started well but was forced to miss Barcelona’s tour of the United States due to an untimely setback.
Now, the club believes Ansu’s primary issue is not physical but mental. His fitness is no longer a concern, but his confidence remains fragile. A breakthrough moment—such as scoring a goal—could be crucial in reigniting his form and self-belief.
With the season still ongoing, neither Flick nor Barcelona’s management are ready to write him off. They remain hopeful that he can still rediscover the qualities that once made him one of the most exciting prospects in European football.
