After sealing the continuity of Xavi Hernandez as manager, FC Barcelona need to get down to work to try to offer the coach the most competitive squad possible.

The Blaugrana are making efforts to return to the 1:1 rule with the aim of going to the market with full guarantees.

Apart from a top pivot midfielder and the signing of Bernardo Silva, a new left-winger is also on the agenda at Barcelona.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the radars

As per Gazetta dello Sport (h/t SPORT), Barcelona have their sights on Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as an option for the left flank.

The Georgian international is well-liked by the officials at Can Barça, with the club seeing him as a player capable of instant impact and adding a direct threat from the left flank.

In fact, as per the report, Xavi Hernandez & co. were left impressed by what they saw from Kvaratskhelia during Barcelona’s UEFA Champions League clash with Napoli this season.

Kvaradona could shun Napoli contract talks

Furthermore, the report states that Barcelona may have even received a major boost in pursuit of Kvaratskhelia.

The winger’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, is set to arrive in Naples to hold talks over a new contract with the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

However, there is a possibility that ‘Kvaradona’ could decide to snub the Italian giants’ efforts to offer him a new deal as he dreams of a transfer, with Barcelona seen as a favourable destination.

It is stated that Napoli are willing to triple his salary from €1.5 million per year to €4 million. Despite that, the winger appears reluctant to pen the new deal, and would be ‘crazy’ about the idea of joining Barcelona.

However, the Catalans’ financial situation could pose a hurdle in their bid to sign Kvaratskhelia, whose current contract already runs until 2027.
