Those in a position of power at La Liga champions Barcelona are readying themselves to sent a blunt message the way of long-time no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen.
That’s according to journalist Helena Condis of COPE, who confirms that as much will come in the form of confirmation that the German is no longer depended on by Hansi Flick and co.
Ter Stegen’s name has of course proven an altogether prominent one in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital across the summer to date.
This comes after the arrival of Joan García saw the 33-year-old’s future thrown somewhat up in the air.
Add to this the recent contract extension penned by Wojciech Szczęsny, and Ter Stegen all of a sudden finds himself as the odd man out.
And yet, to date, all reports have pointed towards the shot-stopper preparing to rebuff incoming offers for his signature, to stay put and fight for his place.
Owing to this stance, the call has therefore been made at the Camp Nou to send a crystal clear message to Ter Stegen.
As per a report from the aforementioned Helena Condis:
‘”Barça are going to inform Ter Stegen that Joan García is their starting goalkeeper. Ter Stegen is upset with the club and has no intention of forgiving them for the three years of his contract.”
