According to a recent revelation made by Sky Sports (h/t SPORT), it has come to light that Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah is yet to make a final decision regarding his future.
The outlet mentions that while Barcelona remain keen on securing his signature, Bayern Munich are still in the race. However, the Bavarian club have not made any significant moves recently to accelerate their pursuit of the centre-back.
Tah’s contract with Leverkusen is set to expire at the end of the season, and he has informed the club of his desire to explore new opportunities.
This has placed him on the radar of several top European teams, with Barcelona emerging as one of the leading contenders for his signature.
Recent reports suggested that Barcelona had reached an agreement with the player, and a crucial meeting is scheduled between the club’s representatives and Tah’s entourage.

This discussion will play a pivotal role in determining whether the German international will make the move to Spain.
Having previously worked under Hansi Flick in the national team setup, Tah is already familiar with Barcelona’s new manager, which could work in the Catalan side’s favour.
Barcelona have already taken steps to strengthen their chances of securing the defender. During their recent visit to Dortmund, club officials reportedly met with Tah’s representatives to discuss the possibility of a transfer.
However, before advancing further, Barcelona must first resolve internal matters.
One of the club’s main priorities is to address the depth in their defensive department. They need to decide which centre-backs will remain at the club next season before committing to new signings.
Until this is sorted, Barcelona cannot provide Tah with a clear picture of his role, which might be a factor in his hesitation.
While the German defender remains an exciting prospect for Barcelona, the club must first streamline their squad before making any definitive moves.
