According to a report from AS, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has shown his leadership and people skills by granting his players an additional three days off before the start of pre-season.

This gesture follows a dream season in which Barcelona lifted the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup, completing a domestic treble that has reignited hope at the club.

It must be noted that originally, Flick had marked July 10 as the return date, with players scheduled for medical tests that day and full training to resume on July 11.

However, after a conversation with the team captains, who proposed a return on Monday, July 14, Flick compromised by pushing the start of pre-season to July 13, with medical evaluations to take place the day before.

These extra days are a reward for the squad’s hard work throughout a long and demanding season.

For many players, the break won’t be total, as they still have international matches to complete before they can truly enjoy some rest. But starting May 26, most internationals will get at least a week off before reporting back.

Pre-Season plans: Asia tour and the return to the Camp Nou

Barcelona’s pre-season will officially begin with a tour of Asia, starting on July 24 and concluding on August 4.

During this period, the team will play three matches, giving Flick a chance to test his system and build chemistry within the squad.

Following the tour, the club will host the traditional Joan Gamper Trophy between August 9 and 10.

This year’s edition is extra special, as it will be the first match played at the newly renovated Spotify Camp Nou. It promises to be a grand welcome for both players and fans.

The competitive action begins shortly after, with Barcelona’s first La Liga match scheduled the following week.
